CCTV FOR MANAKAU AND WAIKAWA BEACH
On Saturday 23 May at HCCT held a short public meeting at 2pm in the Manakau Hall.
The meeting was for community members and groups interested in safety cameras in their neighbourhoods.
The successful meeting confirmed that Horowhenua Community Camera Trust is well placed to assist the Manakau and Waikawa Beach communities with their CCTV coverage. It was agreed that future plans would be negotiated with community people and all main groups.
The various Iwi and community groups are invited to:
(i) Appoint a liaison person to keep engaged with HCCT.
(ii) Consider whether representatives or committee members wish to be visited by camera trust personnel and/or attend a demonstration at the Levin Police Station on the CCTV system and how the service functions for community safety.
